Senior Club

The Senior Cricket Club consists of our Senior A side that have been rebuilding over the last few seasons, but now have a squad with some good depth and have had some great performances on the pitch in the past season. This season they will be joined by two 3rd grade cricket teams and a 4th grade cricket team, where we have been particularly strong in the past few seasons with two teams winning grades and another finishing second twice. It may be thought of as social cricket and we do have a good time, but as you can see, we play to win.

Our Senior A side will again be based on a squad system that will be selected after preseason trials. This grade will start with a couple of 2 day games before moving in to the full 1 Day competition and after Christmas it will be the newly combined CMCA T20 competition and finish the season with 2 Day games.  With the variation of formats there is an opportunity for players to move in and out of the squad as the formats change to ensure players get to play the style of cricket that suits them. The intention is to have a balanced squad of 13-15 players with back up and competition for playing spots each week. Players that are not selected each week and are available are always given the opportunity to either be twelfth man or play in a lower grade team for that week. This squad will again have access to some quality coaching and mentoring from experienced NBCC player Wade Burrell.

Our top 3rd grade cricket team has been playing the 3B grade and is a great building ground for senior grade players as well as a place for those wanting to play a strong level without going to Senior A. The level of competition in this grade is very solid, and this team will be playing to win every game to help develop players for our top side. Our second 3rd grade team played 3C grade last year and won the grade, so will be looking to defend their title.

Our 4th grade cricket team is always competitive and although a more social team in the club, they certainly still play to win and also have a long standing challenge with our other teams to see who can finish higher in their grade. In these teams we try to give everyone the chance to participate with what they want to do, so they make for good entry level teams to join if you have been out of the game for a while.
